Day 01: Lima - Arequipa
Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the morning free.
In the afternoon, we will visit The “Santa Catalina” a convent of Dominica’s cloistered nuns. This walled citadel inside the city was reopened to the public after 400 years, in 1970.
After visiting this site, we will continue through the Main Square, the Catedral, and “La Compañía de Jesús”, church with its Sistine Chapel. Crossing the city through Chili River, we will head for Carmen Alto viewpoint. In this viewpoint, we will be the spectators of an impressive view of the staring point of Arequipa valley and the colonial district of Yanahuara. Return to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 02: Arequipa - Countryside Tour
Breakfast at your hotel.
We will start our journey visiting Paucarpata, the Sabandia’s Mill which is at 8 km of the center of the city. It was built in 1785 with “sillar” or a volcanic stone that predominated in those times. There, one could observe the techniques used to process the wheat used in the stone mills. To continue the tour, we will visit Yumina with its broad “andenes” or terraces. After visiting this site, we will drive to “La Mansion del Fundador” in the area of Huasacache and then drive through Paisajista road to Sachaca’s viewpoint. From there, one will be delighted by the view of the three volcanoes Chachani, Misti and Pichu-Pichu.
Return to the hotel. Overnight
Day 03: Arequipa - Lima
